This is my SOHC turbo saturn. It is a SL, not the SL1 the SL . I have owned the car since may 01. In dec 02 I relized the knock that started as tick was a warped crank. That is what all started this. I dorve the car until it eventually threw a rod through the block. Luckly I had already bought a rebuilt engine, unfourtnatly I had not thought about performance. So I did my reasearch and relized that there was not jack for the SOHC. When I installed the new engine it was the first real work I ever did on a car. With the new engine the mods started. Here is the first list.

Fidanza 8Lbs. Aluminum Flywheel

Clutchmasters stage 1 clutch

Hotshot header for a DOHC moddified for SOHC

2.5" exhaust with ebay fart can and 18" cherry bomb for resonator

cheap ebay intake

Dremel ported intake manifold and Throttle body

It took me a total of 5 days to do this by my self. The car hd to be rollstarted because the starter crapped out. That was fun with no exhaust on there. The car was nice, but needed to be dropped so some KYB's and Sprint 2 inch drop srinps helpped me there. For about 5 months the car pleased me. After that I decided that I needed more speed. Hmmm but how. Well there were only 2 SOHC turbo saturns out there that I knew of (three now including me) so info and parts were limited. I started on ebay with a volvo turbo. I did not know what it was until recently, a mitsubishi TDO4-12. Way to small but it would work. So over 3-4 months I gatthered the parts.

Mitsubishi TDO4

Modified stock manifold

Starion intercooler

DOHC PCM-to ensure I wouldnt't hit a fuel cut off.

SDS-EIC with 2- 480cc injectors

and of couarse all the small stuff.

After 1.5 months I finally got it working only to have my battery die after a 50 mile drive and allow the oil to cook the turbo.

January 17, 2004- I decided to put a hood scoop on after some boredom. That and I needed the extra cooling power. I also got the car running today unfortnatlly it was wet out, I still managed to find a 03 eclipse GT. We took it to 100 I would have pulled on him bad but had to much fuel in, after adjusting that I then proceeded to pass him. I then slowed back down to 70 waiting for him to try it again, but he hung back really far.
